Healthy lifestyle, so popular nowadays, is associated mainly with physical activity and diets containing health food. Most of us can see the problem of pollution caused by human industrial activity.
Without food the average man can survive three weeks, without drinking 7 days. Without oxygen – 3 minutes!
Unfortunately, nowadays people rarely think about the quality of the air they breathe at home, school, work, shopping, cinema... We do not think about it until we see smoke or dust, feel the smell of gas or other chemicals. Then our natural, instinctive reaction is to escape...
But what about the pollution, which is invisible and odourless?
Nowadays, we spend more and more hours a day in different rooms, where the air is forced through a long way of ventilating ducts in A/C systems. If these systems are not properly monitored, cleaned and disinfected, in many cases, the elements or even the entire installation can be a direct or indirect source of pollution.
Most of the indoor air pollution can have an impact on people's health. In homes, offices, schools, manufacturing plants and other places, potentially the most dangerous of these contaminants are pathogenic microorganisms suspended in the air, they form the bioaerosol.
Metabolic products of microorganisms, so-called volatile organic compounds, also pose a threat to human health. These compounds are pressed along with the air directly into the rooms where we live and work.
Microorganisms exist in all environments on earth, so their presence in the air is completely normal phenomenon.
However, when there are favourable conditions for microorganisms to spread, which often takes place in A/C systems (suitable temperature and humidity) they can grow up rapidly and become dangerous for people. Especially when it comes to pathogenic microorganisms.
Indoor air pollution, as a major public health threat, has already been discussed by the World Health Organization – WHO.
